Our history
Nosy Be Marina, Madagascar's only marina, is located in the Baie du Cratère, on the historic site of the sugar company SIRAMA.
A little history:
The first sugar cane cuttings were planted on Nosy Be in 1650. Rice, coffee and cocoa were already being grown here.
In 1923, the Dzamandzar sugar refinery and rum distillery became operational.
In 1930, sugar was Nosy Be's third most important crop after ylang ylang and pepper.
A quay, two warehouses, a crane and conveyor belts are installed on the Crater site. Sacks of refined sugar are transported there by train from Dzamandzar, stored in the warehouses and then unloaded onto the conveyor belts. They are then transported by boat to Majunga for export.
In 2008, La Marina de Nosy Be was created.
SIRAMA is closing its doors in 2010.
The marina is gradually becoming more organised, welcoming sailors of all nationalities. It's a popular stopover for socialising and meeting new people!

If you are entering the country, you must complete your formalities with the authorities at the port of Hellville before dropping anchor at La Marina.

A meeting place for sailors of all nationalities and visitors alike. There's no fuss here, just a friendly atmosphere, a peaceful place where the view of the sailing boats is an invitation to travel.

From time to time, the restaurant offers world cuisine, including Chinese, Reunionese, Indian and Thai, depending on what you come across.
A friendly place
Quai 13-48 regularly hosts local artists and cultural events such as concerts and plays.
Every year, the Grande Régate de Nosy Be brings together around sixty boats for a weekend of festivities.
